How Does Microphlebectomy Work?

The VeinSolutions vascular surgeons in Flint and Lapeer, Michigan will examine your veins to determine which ones should be removed using microphlebectomy. Your health and family health history will also be reviewed to ensure treatment does not put you at risk for any serious complications.

Microphlebectomy is recommended when visible surface veins are too large to be effectively treated with sclerotherapy. Using local anesthesia, your vascular surgeon will make small incisions in the area of the vein to be removed. Your doctor will use a hook to extract damaged veins section by section. The procedure is quick and you can resume normal daily activities right away.

The treatment is considered minimally invasive and does not require general anesthesia or even sutures. Results will be immediate, unlike sclerotherapy where veins close and fade over time.
